The Value of Early Information

How many times have you said "if I only knew then what I know now"? In the development world, early knowledge is everything-saving precious time, money and political effort to create new projects.  Look around and notice how much power you have to edit, to change, to make newer, better decisions and then move on. Digital technology makes it easy-and forgiving-to change our minds and try out better options.  We all expect to be able to act now, in our best interests.

But what we don't know about our project's carbon footprint now can bite us later.  Knowledge sometime down the road, after we've spent our budget or committed to alternatives that we'll discover won't work, is not helpful.  Tools that can give us expert advice now on what we can do to mitigate climate change in our projects are strategically important. The benefit/cost ratio of early knowledge is overwhelmingly high, and worth our early small investment.

Developers, consultants, public officials and the community can be brought into the conversation about what and how we build, at an early stage.  And get to "yes" a whole lot sooner.

CarbonPlanner is a strategic decision support tool that gives you information now to make positive impacts with your current development decisions.
